A woman, possibly Mrs. McIntyre, stands in front of a grocery store. At the time this was the last building on this side of Lakeside Street before the railroad tracks. This store was still in operation in the 1950's. The sign next to the woman advertises the South Side Community Picnic which was held on June 14, 1931 in Olin Park. This was one of many annual community picnic events that were held over a period of several years in South Madison during the 1920's and 1930's. 109 E.
