This picture, a time exposure, taken from the ground, shows the Light Photographic Squadron 62 jet in locations apart as light from its flares illuminate the aircraft. While the Crusader was flying from 600 to 800 feet over Mayport Naval Station, a simulated enemy installation, the light from the flares enabled a nose camera to successfully employ the new photographic technique for the first time.
