As it turns out, my family has some luck when it comes to randomly spotting wildlife--in this case a black bear at the bottom of a valley we just happened to scan at maximum zoom. Not a great picture, but considering the distance and that I'd never seen one in the wild before, a memorable one. Plus Mesa Verde, Colorado is a beautiful visit...too bad all my photos are touristy.
