Keywords: On the north side of the landing strip, it was instantly apparent where people had camped before. Large rocks had been moved from the river bed and up onto the tundra, my guess was because tent stakes are hard to pound into this rocky soil.
When I lifted the rocks, I found remnants of past camping trips: pieces of rope, forgotten tent stakes, plastic garbage bags, tin foil, and glass bottles left in a fire ring. This was a good reminder for me about Leave No Trace camping ethics, especially in remote areas like this. Take only pictures, leave only footprints!
