We've shifted him from a very expensive Orange package to a very cheap Tesco one, and the handover of his number happened today. The pain for me is that he's got a beaten up old Samsung that he's devoted to and didn't want to lose. The tricky bit was that it was locked to Orange, he wanted to keep his contacts and he didn't have the data cable. To unlock the handset I had to do a factory reset on the phone, and that meant wiping the contacts, but with some SIM juggling and the judicious application of this spare Nokia E71 I managed to keep it all together. Fred should hopefully still be happy. :) Toinght I spent a fair chunk of my evening wrestling with my old man's mobile phone.
