That water was indeed a burst water main, and it did eventually force the closure of the school for one day just ahead of the half term holiday. This gifted me a rather unexpected day off (though in fairness I did do a couple of hours work video editing). Amongst other activities, this allowed me to take Sue to lunch. We ended up in Wetherspoons in Kensington (which interestingly used to be a cinema - Liverpool's second purpose built one). Whilst very pleasant, it was also very dark (as pubs tend to be) and so I ended up taking a photo of the gents! Just like the rest of the pub, these are clean, spacious and in good order. Most gratifying. Mindful of my current diet, I opted for the healthy option and went for a jacket potato. Oh damn it all, I had a mixed grill with chips Today's story actually starts last Monday.
