Keywords: This project is looking at the possible effects of contaminants, from bridge run-off during rain events, on the benthic invertebrate community downstream of a major highway bridge. We deployed Hester-Dendy (H-D) artificial substrate samplers upstream and downstream of the bridge. We try to reach similar conditions for the up and downstream placements. After six weeks, the samplers are collected, preserved, and analyzed for benthic invertebrate colonization. It will be interesting to see if there is any difference between the two locations.
