| Keywords: bird animal outdoor field landscape songbird I called this bird a Winter Wren because it appeared very pale and un-buffy compared with west coast Pacific Wrens that I am accustomed to seeing in California. Also this bird appeared a bit more speckled on the back and the tail less red. The two-note call note was not like those that I hear in California. This call note was softer, slower and less harsh/strident. Comments are welcome. By the way, the photo was taken with flash, but the bird really appeared this pale in real life.
