USA, State of Utah, Washington County, town of Grafton. The Alonzo H. Russel home (about 1862). Grafton is a ghost town near the Zion National Park. The site was first settled in December 1859 as part of a cotton-growing project ordered by Brigham Young (president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1847 to 1877). After a flood of the Virgin River, that had destroyed the first town (called Wheeler), a new town, called New Grafton, was built upstream. In 1866 some settlers were killed by Navajo raiders. Besides that, more than thirty people (including many children) died of diseases such as diphtheria, scarlet fever, or accident. So a lot of Grafton's residents moved to Rockville. In 1890 only four families remained. In 1921, the local branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was discontinued. Grafton was permanently abandoned in 1944. In 1997, a restoration project started to preserve the Grafton site. The old church, some houses, and the fence of Berry's grave in the cemetery were restored. In the cemetery it's believed about 80 graves exist. In the center of the cemetery there is the restored fence of Robert Madison Berry (24 years old), his wife Mary Isabella Hales Berry (20) and his brother Joseph Smith Berry (22), killed by Indians. Grafton has been featured as a location in several films.

The Winona Bridge was constructed in the 1930s as part of the original Route 66 alignment. It served as a vital link for travelers heading westward during the heyday of Route 66, connecting various towns and cities across the United States. As transportation infrastructure evolved, newer and wider highways were built, rendering the Winona Bridge obsolete for modern traffic needs. Eventually, it was bypassed by a newer bridge, and Route 66 was realigned. Despite being abandoned, the Winona Bridge retains its historical significance and charm. Its weathered structure stands as a reminder of the iconic Route 66 era, attracting history enthusiasts, photographers, and travelers exploring the remnants of this legendary highway. The Winona Bridge, now on the National Register of Historic Places, is located near Flagstaff, Arizona, USA.

Mount Elden is named for John Elden, one of the region's earliest Anglo settlers. Elden and his family established a homestead on the mountain's lower slopes and, during the late 19th century, grazed sheep on the open grasslands below the mountain. The mountain's exposed, rocky slopes are a dominant feature from almost any part of the surrounding area. Despite its rugged appearance and steep relief, the mountain is accessible via an extensive road and trail system. Mount Elden was photographed from Campbell Meadows in \nFlagstaff, Arizona, USA.
