Cheeky Fox playing in the sun
Spring 2020. As people stayed home in a lockdown, the red foxes returned to the flowery slopes of the California coast. At the coastal trail near San Pedro Port, California, we spotted this family of red foxes playing on the hillside covered tiny purple flowers. It's said that red foxes aren't native to SoCal and it is extraordinary for a Californian to see red foxes roaming the area. This was clearly a rare sighting, as I couldn't spot them in the following days as I continued searching for them. Their migration through California remains a mystery. Here, we observe a lone fox calling out and sticking out its tongue in joy as it appears to have noticed something it loves.
