General secretary of the Communist Party of the RSS of Turkmenistan from 1985 to 1991, Chairman of the Supreme Soviet of RSS of Turkmenistan in 1990 and president independent Turkmenistan from 1991 to his death in 2006. Inside  there are five sarcophagi. Four in the corners - they contain the mother and father of Niyazov, as well as two brothers who died during the 1948 earthquake. In the center lies the sarcophagus for the Turkmenbashi.
