Snow falls on a docked military ship in the winter time. A rope connects the ship to the dock to ensure it does not drift from where it has been placed. Snow and ice have begun to stick to the hill of the ship, and will surely be removed before it sets sail again.

Kennedy (“the JFK”) at the NAVSEA Inactive Ships Maintenance Facility at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. \n\nThe JFK was originally intended to be nuclear-powered, but it was converted to conventional steam boilers some time after construction had started. It was supposed to be a Kitty Hawk-class carrier, but there were so many modifications, that it became a class of its own, and there were none like it afterwards. \n\nThe JFK was in commission from September 1968 to August 2007. It has recently been sold to a scrapyard for one dollar, but as of January 2024, it is still at the Navy Yard in Philly.

HMS Caroline is a C-class cruiser of the Royal Navy and was launched 29 September 1914. It was involved in combat service in the First World War and was used as an administrative centre in the Second World War. It was  decommissioned in 2011 and rests in Alexandra Dock, Belfast. HMS Caroline is the longest-serving warship after HMS Victory.
