A demonic figure on the roof of Aarhus Theatre in Theatregaden, Aarhus, eastern Jutland, Denmark. Designed by Hack Kampmann (1856-1920) and completed in 1898, the theatre is still in use for its original purpose. The architectural style is Art Nouveau. The reason for the demon on the roof is not known for certain but it is thought that Kampmann added it to indicate his dislike of the clergy at the nearby cathedral: however, he was responsible for considerable renovation of the cathedral as well, so it seems unlikely.
