Luanda, Angola: the Cidadela stadium is a late colonial period venue, completed in 1972, it boasted a capacity of 60,000 spectators, although the actual seating capacity is currently limited to 40,000 due to safety regulations. This massive stadium serves as the home ground for several Angolan football clubs and is a frequent venue for national team matches. Despite its significance, the Estádio da Cidadela has also been marred by tragedy, most notably a deadly stampede that occurred during a New Year's Eve celebration in 2013. Home to several teams in the Angolan league (Girabola): Petro Atlético, Sport Luanda e Benfica, and Clube Desportivo Primeiro de Agosto.
