The Black Boy Pub in Sevenoaks, England, will soon have its name changed to The Restoration by its owners Shepherd Neame in solidarity with the global anti-racism protests organised by Black Lives Matter. The Restoration contains links to the restoring to the throne of the Stuart monarch Charles II in 1660. The pub dates back to 1616 during the reign of the first Stuart king, James I. The name Black Boy refers to those who worked in the coal mines or chimney sweeps or perhaps even the fact that Charles II had a darker-hued skin than his predecessors.

King’s Lynn, Norfolk, England - September 25, 2014: The Custom House beside the Purfleet in King's Lynn, Norfolk. The Custom House is probably the best-known building in this ancient town and port on the west coast of Norfolk, England. It was built as a merchant exchange in 1683 on reclaimed land at Purfleet Quay in the Dutch style so often seen in Norfolk. The building was bought by the Crown in 1717 for the use of Customs officers and was in use in that capacity until 1989. It is now used as a tourist information office. (Background people.)
