A dark color variant occurs, the elytra of which are black or brown in color and each has two, rarely only one yellowish spot on the shoulder. The light colour variant has yellow-brown elytra, with a dark elytra seam. \nOccurrence and way of life:\nThey are found in large parts of Europe, but are absent in northern Europe and the British Isles. They inhabit deciduous forests and occur in May and June. Adults are often found sitting on bushes or flowering oaks.
