In the northwest are the Absaroka, the Owl Creek, Wyoming, Gros Ventre, Wind River and the Teton ranges. In the north central are the Big Horns; in the northeast, the Black Hills; and in the southern portion of Wyoming, the Laramie, Medicine Bow and Sierra Madre ranges.
Old Tardy Geyser is a small, infrequent geyser known for its unpredictable activity. The geyser’s name reflects its tendency to erupt later than expected, often delaying or missing predicted eruption times. When it does erupt, Old Tardy typically sends water up to 10 feet high in brief spurts. Though not as dramatic as some of the larger geysers in the area, Old Tardy Geyser is an interesting feature due to its irregular behavior.
