Authentic Tarte Tropezienne for sale at the twice-weekly St Tropez Market in the Place des Lices. The origins of the tart are that an Alexandre Mika had a shop in Saint-Tropez where he made this cake using a recipe that he had brought with him from his native Poland. In 1955 a film crew set up across from the shop and they were continuously buying these tarts. The film crew included the film director Roger Vadim and a then unknown French beauty called Brigitte Bardot.
