$Medium to tall, bristly perennial; stems erect or ascending, branched. Basal leaves oval to oblong, pointed, narrowed into a long stalk; stem leaves unstalked. Flowers bright blue with a white scaly throat, 8-10mm, in small, long-stalked cymes. Nutlets netted.\nHabitat: Damp to shady places, woodland margins, hedgebanks and cultivated land, often close to buildings, at low attitudes.\nFlowering Season: April-July.\nDistribution: SW Europe. $Low to short, hairy, tufted, very rough perennial. Basal leaves heart-shaped, green with distinctive white blotches, stalked; stem leaves oval, unstalked, half-clasping the stem. Flowers reddish- to bluish-violet, pink in bud, 13-18mm long; calyx cylindrical, the teeth triangular, one third the length of the calyx.\nHabitat: Shaded and semi-shaded places on rich deep, humus soils, generally over limestone.\nFlowering Season: March-May.\nDistribution: Northwards Europe to South Sweden, naturalized in Britain.\n\nThis nice medical Plant is photographed in an Ornamental Garden.
