The Apache National Forest and the Sitgreaves National Forest encompass over two million acres of Arizona and western New Mexico. They are administered as one national forest. The Sitgreaves National Forest was named for Captain Lorenzo Sitgreaves, a topographical engineer who conducted the first government expedition across Arizona in the early 1850’s. The Apache National Forest was named for the native tribes that lived in the area. This view of Heifer Basin was photographed from the Highway 180 scenic overlook north of Rancho Grande Estates, New Mexico, USA.

On the bank opposite that of the belvedere, at a height of approximately 100 meters, a path marked in blue leads from En-Vau to Port-Pin along the coast. Built in 2007 by an integration project, it was designed to take advantage of several typical viewpoints of the Calanques. This hike is an opportunity to stop and contemplate the place, and to observe all the possibilities of viewing angles of the turquoise water through the coastal pines and the limestone rock.
