Samson, a Nazirite man, was blessed by God. He found a woman in Timnah that he wanted to marry. The marriage led to betrayal and an extended time of anger and violence in the life of Samson. He became a very strong man. He became the leader of Israel and met a woman named Delilah. The Philistine kings used Delilah to betray Samson again. They wanted her to find out the secret to his strength. She eventually manipulated Samson into telling her that his strength came from his hair. She arranged for it to be cut. God took away his strength as punishment. The Philistines locked him in jail and blinded him. They planned a celebration of their god, Dagon, and planned for blind Samson to entertain them. Samson told the boy leading him in to take him to the columns. He prayed that God would return his strength. God heard his prayer and granted him strength. Samson toppled the columns killing himself and the Philistines who were there.
