The Keeled Skimmer is characterized by its rather small size, fairly slender tapering abdomen and large pterostigma (around 4mm long).\nBehavior:\n Normally sits on vegetation, seldom on the ground.\nOccurrence:\nCommon around the Mediterranean, but generally local in central and Southern Europe.\nHabitat:\nRunning waters, such as streams and ditches. In north of range mainly runnels in boggy areas.\nFlight Season: \nFrom April to November; most abundant from June to August.\n\nThe Species is quite local in the Netherlands in the described Habitats.
