Eurypterids are an extinct group of arthropods that are related to arachnids and include the largest known arthropods to have ever lived. They went extinct during the Permian–Triassic extinction event 252.17 million years ago. Their fossils have a near global distribution. Though purely an artistic interpretation, the structure of the animal is inferred through fossil images and scientific notation of what the species may have looked like within the environment in which they existed.

Lionfish or devil firefish (Pterois miles) is a sea fish exotic and beautiful
The Common Lionfish Pterois volitans inhabits lagoon and seaward reefs from turbid inshore areas to depths of 50 m of the tropical Pacific Ocean from Cocos-Keeling Islands and Western Australia in the eastern Indian Ocean to the Marquesas and Oeno (Pitcairn Group), north to southern Japan and southern Korea, south to Lord Howe Island, northern New Zealand, and the Austral Islands. Often solitary, the species hides in unexposed places at daytime often with head down and practically immobile, using the pattern for camouflage as a hunting skill. \nThe species has recently invaded Western Atlantic and Caribbean coral reefs, and may become one of the most ecologically harmful marine fish introductions to date. The dorsal fins are venomous, but it is a popular table fish. Max. length 38cm. \nThis specimen from Triton Bay, West Papua Province, Indonesia hides in Antipathes sp.
