Haverfordwest, Wales - November 23, 2022: Studio shot of a detail of a UK pre-decimal ten shilling note and one pound note. These became redundant from Monday February 15th 1971 - at which date the UK changed to decimal currency. The value of the ten shilling banknote was equivalent to £0.50 in the 'new' currency. It was the smallest denomination banknote ever issued by the Bank of England.

This is the reverse of  a card from the Victoria Diamond Jubilee Portrait pack of playing cards, published by The Empire Card Company of London in 1897 to celebrate the Diamond Jubiless of Queen Victoria. This is a standard pack of playing cards, 90mm x 63mm in size, published with no Joker so totalling 52 in number. This card back / reverse shows a portrait of Queen Victoria, with crown and veil in a maroon oval, with red Tudor roses in the corners. This is the King of Spades from a pack of cards produced by Charles Goodall in 1897 to celebrate Victoria's Diamond Jubilee, 60 years as Queen of Britain and its overseas dominions. The court cards (picture cards) display former monarchs of Britain, along with their names and dates, and this pack was issued without a joker.
