The Whetstone Mountains located in Cochise County, southeastern Arizona, are a part of the Coronado National Forest. The mountains are steep and rugged, with Apache Peak being its highest point. The foothills are covered in dense scrub, grasses, cacti, succulents, while low woody trees can be found at the higher elevations.
