The Pygmy marmosets are two species of small New World monkeys in the genus Cebuella. They are native to rainforests of the western Amazon Basin in South America which includes Peru. These primates are notable for being the smallest monkeys in the world, at just over 100 g (3.5 oz). A critically endangered wild yellow Atelopus epikeisthos is seen on moss near a small bromeliad flower.  This new and critically endangered species of Atelopus from the Andes of northern Peru is a harlequin toad.  It is extremely rare.  This toad is found near streams in the high Andes and is 2 inches in length.
