Rome, Italy, December 14 -- Two bronze statues made at the beginning of the 20th century in front of the house-museum of the artist Pietro Canonica in Villa Borghese, in the green heart of Rome. Pietro Canonica (1869–1959) was a famous Italian sculptor, author of important artworks made for mausoleums and monumental tombs still present in Italy, Russia, Turkey, England, Colombia and Argentina. Considered the green lung of Rome, Villa Borghese is the largest public park in the city with almost 80 hectares of extension, where residents and tourists can spend hours of relaxation and silence among tree-lined avenues, ponds and Italian and English-style gardens surrounded by trees and ancient pines. The area of the Villa Borghese includes the extension of ancient gardens the of the Borghese family since 1580, while the current arrangement of the park was completed in 1903 in neoclassical style. In 1980 the historic center of Rome was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. Super wide angle image in high definition format.

The Capitoline Hill (Latin: Collis Capitolinus pronounced, between the Forum and the Campus Martius, is one of the seven hills of Rome. By the 16th century, Capitolinus had become Campidoglio in the Roman dialect. The English word capitol derives from Capitoline. The Capitoline contains few ancient ground-level ruins, as they are almost entirely covered up by Medieval and Renaissance palaces (now housing the Capitoline Museums) that surround a piazza, a significant urban plan designed by Michelangelo.

The majestic equestrian statue of Emperor Marcus Aurelius Augustus dominates the center of the Campidoglio (the Roman Capitol Square), in the historic heart of the Eternal City. Located on the Capitoline Hill, the Campidoglio was one of the holiest places in ancient Rome and considered as the founding nucleus of the entire Roman civilization.
