Milestone on the road going to The historic fort of Derawar, is a large square fortress in the desert of Cholistan. Ahmadpur East Tehsil, Punjab, Pakistan. 130 kilo meters south of the city of Bahawalpur, the forty bastions of Derawar are visible for many miles in the Cholistan Desert. The walls have a perimeter of 1500 metres and stand up to thirty meters high. It holds a valuable significance in the Muslim world. It was used by Sadiq Ali Khan and his guests as a winter holiday residence.

It was established in 1966, when the area was declared a national historical landmark of Azerbaijan in an attempt to preserve the prehistoric rock carvings, mud volcanoes and musical stones in the region.\n\nGobustan State Historical and Cultural Reserve acquired national status in 2006, and Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2007. As of 2011, the Petroglyph Museum functions in the reserve.
