Wonders abound at this truly unique national park, from sites like the Yellowstone Grand Canyon to wildlife like America's largest buffalo herd, grizzly bears, and wolves.
Churn Geyser is a small but vigorous geyser known for its frequent and energetic eruptions. Unlike many geysers that shoot water in tall columns, Churn Geyser's eruptions are more chaotic and resemble a bubbling cauldron, with water splashing and churning within its small pool. The eruptions, which can reach up to 10 feet, occur irregularly but often, making it an intriguing and unpredictable feature in the geothermal landscape of the Upper Geyser Basin.

The Great Plains meet the Rocky Mountains in Wyoming. The state is a great plateau broken by a number of important mountain ranges. In the northwest are the Absaroka, the Owl Creek, Wyoming, Gros Ventre, Wind River and the Teton ranges.
