The photo was taken in Dailuo Ding, Mount Wutai in Shanxi Province. Shanxi is one of the birthplaces of Chinese Buddhism. The most famous of them is Mount Wutai, which was built in the Southern and Northern Dynasties and has a history of more than 1,600 years. It is a world cultural heritage. Mount Wutai is not a single temple, but a Buddhist gathering place composed of many temples. This is an ancient temple located on a peak of Mount Wutai. It requires climbing 1080 steps to reach the top. The temple on the top is very popular and offers a panoramic view of the whole Wutai Mount.

Houhai is the largest of the three lakes, along with Qianhai 'Front Lake' and Xihai 'Western Lake', that comprise Shichahai, the collective name for the three northernmost lakes in central Beijing. Since the early 2000s, the hutong neighborhood around Houhai has become known for its nightlife as many residences along the lake shore have been converted into restaurants, bars, and cafes. The area is especially popular with foreign tourists visiting Beijing and is also often visited by the expatriate community and the younger generations of locals.\n\nThe Former Residence of Soong Ching-ling and Prince Gong Mansion are both located in the Houhai neighborhood.

Beijing, China - September 11, 2014: Skewed Tobacco Pouch Street  (Yandai Xiejie) is one of the oldest hutongs in Beijing. Located in the Xicheng District, it is close to the Shichahai and Houhai which are famous attractions in Beijing. Skewed Tobacco Pouch Street is 232 meters (253 yards) long with its east end on the Di'anmen Street and the west to the Silver Ingot Bridge. Stepping into the street for about 50 meters, one would come to the south end of the Dashibei Hutong, which goes to the Drum Tower West Avenue (Gulou Xidajie). Passing over the Silver Ingot Bridge one can reach the Shichahai Bar Street.
