The Sangre de Cristo Mountains are the southernmost part of the Rocky Mountains in southern Colorado and northern New Mexico.  This mountain range is 242 miles in length and contains several peaks which are over 12,000 feet above sea level in New Mexico and over 14,000 feet in Colorado.  The highest peak is Blanca Peak in Colorado at 14,351 feet above sea level.  The name of the mountains, which means “Blood of Christ” in Spanish, refers to the reddish color observed during sunrise and sunset. Wind River Lake which is a high mountain lake on Togwotee Pass with Breccia Cliffs and Breccia and Sublette Peaks in the Absaroka Mountains in the summer in Wyoming USA.  This is the mountain pass between Dubois Wyoming and the Grand Tetons National Park / Jackson Hole (valley) where the Absaroka and Wind River mountain ranges of the Rockies meet.
