Mount São Félix (202 meters) is the highest mountain in the municipality of Póvoa de Varzim, in Portugal. The mountain is located in the parish of Laundos, in the Sierra de Rates. Despite its modest height, it stands out in the area's landscape for being an elevation facing a coastal plain.\n\nThe hill offers a panoramic view of the city and its beaches, has the Capela de São Félix (Saint Félix chapel), mills (some converted into summer residences) and the Estalagem (hostel) of São Félix. Not far away is the Rates Shooting Range.\n\nIt is believed that Saint Félix (the hermit) lived on this mountain, responsible for having found the body of Saint Peter of Rates, the first bishop of Braga, who had given rise to the church of Saint Peter of Rates and justified the supremacy of Braga, in religious terms, in the Iberian Peninsula.\n\nThe Río Alto is born in Monte de São Félix, which flows into the parish of Estela, precisely at Praia do Rio Alto (Río Alto Beach).
