Bryce Canyon a large reserve in Utah, is know for the crimson-colored hoodoos. These are spire-shaped rock formations. The formation is this picturesque image have deep snow all around them.

Bryce Canyon National Park is a collection of natural amphitheaters along the eastern side of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. Its rim at varies from 8,000 to 9,000 feet. The Bryce Amphitheater is 12 miles long, 3 miles wide and 800 feet deep. The Paiute Indians believed that the hoodoos (pinnacles) were people whom the gods turned to stone.
