The Rosette Nebula (NGC 2237, Caldwell 49) is the large hydrogen, sulfur and oxygen gas cloud in the constellation of Monoceros. The open star cluster NGC 2244 (Caldwell 50) consists of stars being formed from the nebula. The nebula is 5,200 light years away from Earth. Amateur image, total exposure time: 15h45m, HST palette image.
Image was shot using a remote telescope service.
The Crab Nebula is a supernova remnant and pulsar wind nebula in the constellation of Taurus. 6,523 light years from Earth.

The Crab Nebula (catalogue designations M1, NGC 1952, Taurus A) is a supernova remnant and pulsar wind nebula in the constellation of Taurus.
Crab Nebula, a supernova remnant and pulsar wind nebula in the constellation of Taurus. Also known as Messier 1, M1, Sh2-244 or LBN 833. Amateur narrowband image, no NASA content involved.
Runder Nebel
Crab Nebula - part of the constellation Taurus. Its a remnant of a supernova in the year 1054. Its core is a strong pulsar neutron star. Retouched and cleaned version of original image from NASA/STScI

M1 Crab Nebula in Taurus
NGC 6946, sometimes referred to as the Fireworks Galaxy, is a face-on intermediate spiral galaxy with a small bright nucleus, whose location in the sky straddles the boundary between the northern constellations of Cepheus and Cygnus. Its distance from Earth is about 25.2 million light-years.

Background of real stars in the Northern winter sky.
The Rosette Nebula is the remains of a 4 million year old supernova, approximately 5,219 lightyears from earth, in the constellation Monoceros. It lies a little south of the celestial equator, but can be seen from both the northern and southern hemispheres. This is an ORIGINAL IMAGE, taken and processed by me, with a QSI 583wsg CCD camera through a William Optics Zenithstar 73iii telescope with a William Optics Flat73R 0.8x reducer/flattener, and focused with a Primalucelabs Sesto Senso 2 robotic focus controller. Guiding of the Sky-Watcher EQ6-R Pro German equitorial mount is through Sky-Watcher SynScan Pro Wi-Fi controller into PHD2 open source guiding software. The image was captured through Atik narrowband filters - Hydrogen Alpha (7nm Ha), Oxygen (7nm Oiii), Sulpher (7nm Sii). It consists of 20 frames each of Ha, Oiii, and Sii, all taken at 180 second exposures, captured in Astrophotography Tool (APT), stacked and processed in Pixinsight, with final processing in Adobe Lightroom. NO EXTERNAL SOURCE IMAGE OR MAPPING WAS USED IN THE CREATION OF THIS IMAGE. THIS IS A 100% ORIGINAL IMAGE, CAPTURED, STACKED, PROCESSED, AND EDITED BY MICHAEL TERENCE MCNERNEY.
