San Antonio, Texas, USA - March 29, 2018:  The Alamo Cenotaph, also known as the Spirit of Sacrifice, is a monument in Alamo Plaza commemorating the Battle of the Alamo, which was fought at the adjacent Alamo Mission.
Monument to the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment.  The 54th Regiment was one of the first official black units in the United States during the Civil War.  The monument, constructed 1884–1898 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens on the Boston Common, is part of the Boston Black Heritage Trail.

Robert Gould Shaw is seen leading members of the 54th Regiment Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry 1863. The sculpture was unveiled on May 31, 1897. the first civic monument to pay homage to the heroism of African American soldiers.

The Heald Square Monument is a bronze sculpture group by Lorado Taft in Heald Square, located in Wacker Drive, Chicago, Illinois, USA. It depicts General George Washington, and the two principal financiers of the American Revolution, Robert Morris and Haym Salomon.  Dates back to 1941.

The Columbus Monument is a 76-foot column that is located at the center of Manhattan's Columbus Circle, New York, USA. The monument was created by Italian sculptor Gaetano Russo. The monument was officially unveiled with a ceremony on October 13, 1892, as part of the 400th anniversary celebration of Columbus' landing in the Americas. Tourists and New Yorkers are resting at the monument's base.
