The Abraham Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., is a revered monument honoring the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. Dedicated in 1922, the memorial stands at the west end of the National Mall, overlooking the Reflecting Pool and the Washington Monument. Designed in the style of a Greek Doric temple, the memorial features a seated statue of Abraham Lincoln, crafted by sculptor Daniel Chester French. The statue sits within a majestic chamber adorned with inscriptions of Lincoln's iconic speeches, including the Gettysburg Address. The memorial serves as a symbolic tribute to Lincoln's leadership during the American Civil War and his enduring impact on the nation.

This Grade I-listed triumphal arch was designed by Decimus Burton. It stands between Green Park and Hyde Park on Hyde Park Corner. It was built between 1816-1830, although it has been moved from its original location. It was built to commemorate Britain;s victory against Napoleon in the Napoleonic Wars.
