Oslo, Norway: Grand Hotel façade with clock tower, architect Johan Nordan - the hotel hosts the annual Nobel Peace Prize banquet, and the prize winners stay in the Nobel suite at the hotel. The hotel was founded by confectioner Julius Fritzner and opened in 1874. In the 1880s and 1890s, the Grand Café on the corner was an important meeting place for artists and intellectuals. Henrik Ibsen was known for his daily visits in the late 1890s, while he lived in Arbins gate . At the main table, the hotel gave him his own chair with a silver nameplate and a set of glasses with his name engraved on it.
