The parade is held on 26 January each year to celebrate the formation of India as an independent Republic. The parade includes representation from all Indian military and security organisations and floats representing all of the states of India.

Simiane La Rotonde, in the Alpes de Haute Provence, France, on 22 August 2021 honoured, with great respect, the liberation of Provence in 1944. Four Associations presented this important and moving time, dressed in uniforms of the day and arriving in wartime  vehicles. There was not a particular program other than for the actors to circulate amongst the onlookers, depicting the dress and somewhat of the feeling of the day during the time of the liberation.
