High Angle View of Fire Salamander (Salamandra salamandra) on the Rock in Stream
The image captures a magical moment amidst the rocky landscapes of Suisse Normande. On a grey rock covered with patches of moss and lichen, a vibrant green lizard is basking. Its emerald color stands out vividly against the softer tones of its surroundings. The reptile’s scales reflect light in an almost hypnotic way, while the rough surface of the rock and the softness of the moss create a fascinating texture contrast. In the background, fern-like plants add a touch of mystery and evoke the wild beauty of the region.\n\nThis lizard, the emerald guardian of the Roches d’Oëtre, embodies life and resilience within this landscape sculpted by time. An image that invites contemplation and wonder in the face of nature.

The smooth newt, European newt, northern smooth newt or common newt (Lissotriton vulgaris) is a species of newt. It is widespread in Europe and parts of Asia, and has been introduced into Australia. Individuals are brown with a spotted underside that ranges in colour from orange to white. They reach an average length of 8–11 cm; males are larger than females. The newts' skins are dry and velvety when they are living on land, but become smooth when they migrate into the water to breed. Males develop a more vivid colour pattern and a conspicuous skin seam (crest) on their back when breeding.\n\nThis is a common Species in the Netherlands.

Banded Sea Snake Laticauda colubrina on a outer reef swimming to surface, looking for fresh water. Sea Snakes need to drink fresh water and regularly come onto land for that purpose. The Banded Sea Snake Laticauda colubrina occurs in tropical Indo-Pacific. Males maximum length 88 cm, females 142 cm. The Banded Sea Snake is often seen in large numbers in the company of hunting parties of giant trevally (Caranx ignobilis) and goatfish. Their cooperative hunting technique is similar to that of the moray eel, with the Snakes flushing out prey from narrow crevices and holes. \nThis specimen was encountered in the Triton Bay, Kaimana Regency, West Papua Province, Indonesia, 3°55'0.7321 S 134°6'7.7298 E.
