Striated Pardalote (Pardalotus striatus)
A White-crowned Sparrow (Zonotrichia leucophrys) on a log in San Bernardino County, southern California.  This sparrow has a huge range, breeding in the northern Canada and the North American arctic, and wintering in most of the United States to central Mexico.

Spotted Pardalote
A young male Slaty Flowerpiercer (Diglossa plumbea) in the mountains of western Panama.  This species is endemic to the Talamanca Mountains of eastern Costa Rica and western Panama. Flowerpiercers are considered odd members of the tanager family (Thraupidae).  They have an upset bill with a hook on the end for piercing flowers at the bases to gain access to nectar. In this way they access nectar without benefitting the plant by participating in pollination.

African Dusky Flycatcher.\nThe African dusky flycatcher (Muscicapa adusta), also known as the dusky-brown flycatcher or dusky alseonax, is a small passerine bird of the Old World flycatcher family, Muscicapidae. It is a resident breeder in Africa from Nigeria, the Central African Republic, Rwanda, South Sudan and Ethiopia south to South Africa. It is very common in its woodland habitat, which includes riverine forests, evergreen forest edges and clearings, especially near water bodies such as lakes, dams and streams, and well-wooded suburban gardens.
