Aesculus tarbinata, commonly named Japanese horse-chestnut, is native to Japan, but is now cultivated elsewhere. The tree grows up to about 30 meters high. Flowers are white to yellow (creamy white) color with red spots. The species is hermaphrodite (has both male and female organs) and is pollinated by bees.\nThe seeds ripen in late August to September.
