$Melbourne, Australia - Nov 4, 2023: Melbourne's new Union Station looking north to Box Hill with a PTV-MTM (Metro Trains Melbourne) train in platform 2.\nVictoria’s Big Build has removed 2 of Melbourne’s most dangerous and congested level crossings at Union Road, Surrey Hills and Mont Albert Road, Mont Albert and built a brand-new Union Station.\nEarly works started in June 2021, the level crossings were removed in May 2023 and the fast-tracked station opened on Monday 22 May with trains running on the Belgrave and Lilydale lines in the new 1.3km rail trench beneath Mont Albert and Union roads. \nThe works will ease congestion and make driving safer as the crossing boom gates at these sites were down for up to 40% of the morning peak, when up to 61 trains ran through the crossings.$

Shot of the R.H.D.R (Romney Hythe & Dymnchurch Railway) in kent, an old one-third size railway that has been in operation since 1927. Requisitioned by the War Department the railway was used extensively during the building of PLUTO (Pipe line under the ocean) which fuelled the Allied invasion force during WWII, returning to public use in 1946.

$A more modern Diesel locomotive stored at Haworth Train Yard\n\nThe Keighley & Worth Valley Railway (KWVR) is a 5-mile-long (8 km) heritage railway in the Worth Valley, West Yorkshire. It is now a major tourist attraction and carries more than 100,000 passengers a year.\n\nThe depot in Haworth serves as a maintenance and storage yard for a large number of their engines. On 8th May 2023 I was allowed to tour the maintenance yard and look at what goes on behind the scenes.$
