Rome, Italy, February 15 -- A glimpse of Castel Sant'Angelo taken from the surrounding park in downtown Rome. Built around 123 AD as a sepulcher for Emperor Hadrian and his family, the current Castel Sant'Angelo was used as a fortress, prison and refuge by the Popes due his proximity with the Vatican.
