Roskilde Cathedral in the city of Roskilde on the Island of Zealand in eastern Denmark, was the first Gothic cathedral to be built of brick and its construction encouraged the spread of this Brick Gothic style throughout Northern Europe. It was built during the 12th and 13th centuries, and incorporates both Gothic and Romanesque architectural features in its design. The cathedral's twin spires dominate the skyline of the town.

The Isted Lion was placed on the churchyard in Flensburg in 1860 as a memorial of the battle of Isted in 1850 during the 1849 - 1852 war between Denmark and the Germans. In 1864 after the 1864 war Preussen transported the Lion to Berlin. Aften WW II the Americans returned the Lion to Denmark. Today you find the Lion in Copenhagen in fron of the Army Arsenal Museum.
