Tot 40-45mm, Ab 26-35mm, Hw 20-27mm.\nThis mobile species is typical of habitats prone to desiccation. It is recognized in most areas by its pale coloration and bicolored pterostigma. Often seen ovipositing in completely dry areas.\nOccurrence:\nA strong wanderer found in Mid and South Europe to the east to Mongolia; may be absent from areas for many years, suddenly establishing large colonies that may persist for years. A southern species that has increased dramatically in northern Europe since the mid 1990s.\nHabitat:\nFavors ephemeral conditions even more than other Lestes species, being typical of sites that dry out early in summer, such as dune slacks, meadow pools and shallow depressions.\nFlight Season:\nFrom March to October in the southern Mediterranean, but in the north most adults probably emerge in June and July, reaching the greatest densities in August.\n\nThis Picture is made in a large Rift with a rich vegetation in Flevoland (the Netherlands) in half of June 2021.
In the photo, a Long-winged Tiny Derbid Planthopper insect is captured in stunning detail. The insect is small, with delicate wings and a unique shape that sets it apart from other insects. Its body is a striking shade of green, with intricate patterns and textures that can be seen up close. The insect appears to be perched on a leaf, with its wings spread wide in a display of beauty and grace. The background is blurred, creating a sense of depth and dimensionality that emphasizes the insect's form. The overall effect is both captivating and mesmerizing, with the insect appearing to be suspended in mid-air.
