Located in Tournai, one next to the other, the belfry of Tournai (72 m high) is the oldest belfry in Belgium and is listed as a Major Heritage of Wallonia1. Created in the twelfth century, it is the oldest of the belfries preserved in Belgium, The Notre-Dame Cathedral, is a Catholic religious building of great antiquity located in the heart of the city of Tournai, Belgium, of which it is the cathedral church (diocese of Tournai). It is the only religious building in Belgium that was built as a cathedral. A masterpiece of Scaldian Gothic, this monument is, by the harmonious alliance of Romanesque and Gothic styles, by its size1 and its characteristic architecture, one of the most impressive witnesses of Western art. It is part of the major heritage of Wallonia and has been classified since 2000 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
