The Ledges at Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Fall Creek Gorge is one of the unique scenic areas of west central Indiana. In Warren County, along with Portland Arch's unusual arch are two geographical areas. Not only do they both have steep walled canyons, Fall Creek also has a waterfall, tumbling waters over large, circular openings in the sandrock potholes which form the floor of the canyon. Both have unusual flora and fauna. One winter my photographer girlfriend of mine and I went on a mission to photograph the gorge. We used our tripods as hiking sticks, on all fours we scrambled up the tall canyon that usually has steps. After getting some photos, we now questioned how we would get down. Having our ski pants we used them as a slide. Fortunately, we got some good images and didn't get hurt. Warren County is isolated.

The Genesee river runs through western New York and Letchworth state park known as the grand canyon of the east. Large granite cliffs, waterfalls, and abundant hiking make this state park a popular tourist attraction in the east.

Pennsylvania, USA - May 21, 2022: A male swimmer rides the rushing water down the narrow chute known as the Natural Water Slides at Ohiopyle State Park and lands upside down at the base of the channel while his buddies watch and cheer him on in the southwestern region of the state.

Turkey Run State Park is in Parke County Indiana. Sandstone hollows were formed many years ago, making the park a paradise for hikers. The tall colorful hollows make you feel like you are in another planet. Waterfalls, cliffs, and hardwood forest are unique. We have hiked every trail, many times and are always mesmerized by the magnificent rock walls. Trail 3 is our favorite, but make sure you don't wear sandals. The rock cliffs are slippery and you will get your feet wet because you walk along a creek bed and up a waterfall. After the waterfall the trail takes you up a rock ledge with carefully carved steps requiring you to wait for oncoming hikers.

Mystic Gorge at Ausable Chasm, near Keensville, NY with the Ausable River cutting through it, ultimately emptying out in Lake Champlain. Thick, ancient sandstone climbs up either side.

A 435 acre nature preserve neaer the Wabash River in Fountain County Indiana encoumpasses the wooded valleys, roavines and rocky cliffs around the lowest section of Bear Creek.
