Home of George Wythe, the first Virginian signer of the Declaration of Independence. Washington used this house as his headquarters in 1781 before the siege of Yorktown. Colonial Williamsburg is a historic area, which includes several buildings from the 18th century that had been restored. Costumed employees work and dress as people did from that era.
