Bryce Canyon
Arches in the national park with sandstone
Bryce Canyon in southern Utah, USA, is known for its distinctive geological features: hoodoos. They are tall, thin pillars of sandstone and fine sedimentary rocks that protrude from the bottom of arid basins. Formed by frost-wedging and stream erosion of river and lake bed sedimentary rocks, they have shaped its landscape over millions of years. Rock colors are the result of the oxidation of different minerals within the limestone. The canyon's formation is attributed to the processes of frost-wedging and stream erosion, which have shaped its landscape over millions of years. Bryce Canyon is part of the larger Colorado Plateau and sits at a high elevation, providing diverse and scenic views. \nPicture taken in late March with snow still on the ground, and clouds in the sky.

a scenic winter landscape of Bryce Canyon Utah
This iconic natural bridge and arched rock formation is a wonderous sight to see. But on this dark night, a more ominous tone was brought to the scenery as a snowstorm kicked tons of snow and fog into the air. Our view of the rock formation is clear, but it is blurry beyond, making this arch a portal to the foggy, mysterious world behind it.
