St Davids Bishops Palace is a ruined medieval palace located adjacent to St Davids Cathedral in the city of St Davids, Pembrokeshire, Wales. The site dates back to the 6th century, although the building that stands today dates largely from the late 13th and 14th centuries.

Holyrood Abbey is a ruined abbey of the Canons Regular in Edinburgh, Scotland. The abbey was founded in 1128 by King David I. During the 15th century, the abbey guesthouse was developed into a royal residence, and after the Scottish Reformation the Palace of Holyroodhouse was expanded further. The abbey church was used as a parish church until the 17th century, and has been ruined since the 18th century. The remaining walls of the abbey lie adjacent to the palace, at the eastern end of Edinburgh's Royal Mile. The site of the abbey is protected as a scheduled monument.

Wales. Tintern. Tintern Abbey was originally a wooden Cistercian monastery built around 1130 at the banks of the River Wye and later completed with a stone church and cloisters. After the reformation when Henry Vlll broke up with Rome he wanted to get rid of monasteries and Tintern Abbey was destroyed. Nowadays the ruins are a national icon and a much visited landmark for tourists of which I was one.

The Rock of Cashel is one of Ireland's most spectacular historic sites. A prominent green hill, with limestone outcrops, rises from a grassy plain. On the hill, walls surround a round tower, a13th-century Gothic cathedral and the finest 12th-century Romanesque chapel in Ireland.
